Если коротко, наш сугубо загородный (deep in the suburbs) Натик молл расширили и добавили бутики типа Нейман Маркус ("Natick Collection"). И - пристроили элитный кондоминиум, 215 квартир. И вот покупатели этих кондо тащатся от видов: на средней руки крупный магазин ширпотреба JCPenney и на скоростную дорогу Masspike. Город хорош для 20-летних, говорят они, а в 30-40 хочется уже совсем другого от жизни.
В принципе, это классно, что их собирают в одном месте. Жду выхода на экран сериала "A way of having it all".

That's not my idea of fun anymore. And that's the part of Boston that's missing. It's nice for the college students and the twentysomethings. But for the thirtysomethings and fortysomethings it starts to get, like, where do you go? You want to hang out with a different caliber of people."
"We both love shopping," Michael DuGally said. "So why not live someplace where there is so much stuff accessible?"

Date: 2008-05-03 03:13 am (UTC)По периметру мола сделана вело-бего-дорожка, она даже частично проходит вдоль ближайшего болота. Впрочем быстрым шагом обойти периметр занимает минут 20 - довелось проверить, пока в тамошнем Sears чинил машину. В этом смысле место для жизни должно быть комфортным - все под одной крышей, за исключением кинотеатра, до которого 5 минут пешком, но он уже во Framingham - наверно поэтому и не присоединен к моллу.
Пока что никто не додумался пустить автобус-экспресс в даунтаун Бостона или хотя бы местный автобус до станции(существующий Нэтиковский ходит раз в час и долго) - вот тогда бы ценность места сильно возросла бы, наши кондо у станции забиты работающими в Бостоне и в поезде утром не сядешь.
Вид с верхних этажей должен быть отличный - и вовсе не на молл, а на окрестные озера и леса. И кроме 2 башен прямо в молле есть еще одна, через дорогу, на границе с парком (Cochituate state park) - вот там совсем интересно будет жить.
P.S. А в новом молле я все еще не был :-))
